All First Responders, Firefighters, Law Enforcement, active or retired--Bakersfield High School would like to invite you to an outside assembly at the High School Flag pole on Friday, September 11, at 9:30 a.m. as we honor the memory of the 402 First Responders who lost their lives in the attacks on 9/11. We will require mask to be worn and we will ask people that attend to socially distance as much as possible. Bakersfield High School appreciates all area First Responders!!

Parents of Vo-Tech Students: You may have received a message from South Central Career Center but we want to make sure everyone understands what their plan is for the foreseeable future:
This week--students will attend as planned for the rest of the week.
Vo-Tech will not be having students next week-Sept. 7-11. Vo-Tech students will need to be on the BHS campus at 11:00.
Starting the week of Sept. 14, our students will not go to Vo-tech on Mondays. They will go to Vo-Tech Tuesday through Friday.
If you have any questions, call the HS office at 417-284-7333 and Mr. Byrd or Mrs. Summers will try to answer your questions.

First Day TOMORROW!! The kids who live on the KK route (Fairview/Pottersville) have a new bus driver. Mr. Tom Lockett will be the driver for this year. We start school at 7:45 this year, which is 5 minutes earlier than last year. Be prepared at bus stops to be a bit early on the first day. We can't wait to see you!!!
Bakersfield students who have enrolled in dual courses with Missouri State West Plains and courses with South Central Career Center will not begin these classes until Tuesday, August 25.
Tuesday, August 25 is the first day of school! Morning drop-off procedures for car riders are the same as last year. A staff member will be at the entrance to make sure their temperature is taken. Elementary students will be given direction to their classroom. All middle and high school students will report to their GAP class. Students need to wear a mask on the bus. Middle School and High School students need to wear their masks in the hallway and in any class where social distancing is not possible. We look forward to seeing you Tuesday!!!!

Reminder: FFA Members/Ag students, the FFA BBQ/Cornhole tournament will be at the pavilion tomorrow evening Aug. 21, @ 6pm. In order to decrease the likelihood of a Covid-19 outbreak in our community, parents will not be allowed to stay at the event. Students will be required to socially distance as much as possible. Any student receiving a ride to the event should be picked up at or before 9pm. Looking forward to seeing you there!!

FCA would like to invite the community to join us at the school, Tuesday August 25th at 7:15AM, for communal prayer over the upcoming school year. We would love for all of us (practicing social distancing) to surround the school and pray for our students, faculty and staff, the school in general, and our community as we embark on this new journey through the upcoming school year. Middle School Girls Basketball practice schedule: Wed 8/19 4-5:30, Thu 8/20 9-10:30. If the athlete does not have a physical on file they will need to bring one before practicing. Masks will be worn entering the gym and temperatures will be taken. All athletes must have their own water bottle and towel.
Attention all Bakersfield R-4 teachers and staff-staff meetings begin Tuesday, August 18 at 9:00 am. Please enter the main gym entrance. We are ready to be Lion Strong with the start of the 2020 school year!
7th and 8th grade boys basketball will practice Monday, August 17 from 4:30-6:00 pm. Please bring a mask and be prepared for a temperature check before entering the building.
