I would like to take a moment to thank all Bakersfield Elementary Parents for helping us get off to a great start this year. My colleagues and I were recently talking about the great parenting we see on a daily basis from you all. You are to be commended for the great job you are doing! Our students are well cared for. It is evident that you love your children. They come to us clean, well rested and ready to learn. More and more we see children that are coming to us with a strong foundation in learning and I want you to know that we notice all the hard work that our young parents are putting in at home. You all are doing a great job!
We are now entering the 3rd week of school. We always try to be a little more lax in the beginning of a school year with parents dropping off students and especially the very young, even allowing you to walk them to class in the beginning. Nevertheless, as we move forward I would ask that you limit your drop-offs to simply letting your student out of the car if possible. If you must stop and get out of the car, please park in a designated parking spot. If you are unable to do so, please be mindful that there are other parents in line behind you and long stops can cause traffic to back into the highway. Also, I want to make sure that you are aware that Kindergarten -6th grade students can be dropped of on the north end of the building. The north end of the building can be accessed by going through the HS parking lot or the gravel parking lot. If students arrive prior to 7:30 am, they need to go directly to the cafeteria to be supervised. Students are not to be dropped off prior to 7:00am.
Sincerely,
Mr. Hollis
