SENIOR Night for High School Baseball AND Softball will be Monday, April 27! Please join us at the HOME Softball and Baseball games Monday night starting at 4:30. Lady Lions Softball Varsity and JV teams will face Willow Springs and Lions Baseball will take on Viola for a Varsity game.
8th grade has been learning about the Holocaust this week with Mrs. Dillinger and Mrs. Dewey. They created a timeline including Individual Profile cards, Laws and Decrees, and Historical events. This visual really helped students make connections about how the Laws and Decrees influenced the events leading up to and during WWII and how they affected individual people from various backgrounds.




There will be a freshman orientation for all 8th graders and their parents tonight at 6 in the FEMA building. All current 8th graders from the rural schools as well as 8th graders here at Bakersfield Middle School are invited!
Bakersfield Elementary is proud to announce a PILOT program for a hybrid virtual program for 2026-2027. This pilot program is open to 10 elementary students (Grades K-6) who live in the Bakersfield R-IV School District. Students will have access to core subject areas taught by Bakersfield teacher(s) in their grade level and content areas. Students will be required to take the MAP test at the end of the year. Students will have access to face-to-face OR virtual tutoring after school hours and an on-site activity one evening each week.
There will be an informational meeting about this Pilot program on Tuesday, May 5th at 6 pm in the FEMA building.

Summer School will be held June 1st - June 25th. Please return the permission slip by Friday, April 24th! We will be offering the Hunter's Education course to any student entering grades 6-8. This opportunity is only available to those students who are enrolled in summer school.

Congratulations to Wyatt Puffer and Brock Zimmer on their acceptance to State Tech! Wyatt is pursuing a degree in heavy equipment operations and management, and Brock will be working towards a degree in automotive technology.

The FFA Greenhouse will be open on school days starting tomorrow, April 21st. We have many ornamental and flowering hanging baskets and several vegetable types listed below:

Impatiens, Calibrachoa, Gerber Daisy's and Petunias $20
Small potted flowers are $3 or two for $5
Tomato (various types), Cucumber (various types), Yellow squash, Zucchini, 4packs are $3
Today some of our students had an incredible opportunity to visit McQueary Family Health Science Hall at MSU and explore the cadaver lab. Students were able to view real specimens and gain a deeper understanding of human anatomy in a hands-on meaningful way. So proud of how engaged and thoughtful these girls were throughout the experience- definitely a day we won’t forget!!
