Congratulations, Alexandria Kowiti!!! This past summer, Alex, a student from the Bakersfield High School Class of 2022 was awarded a rootEd Alliance Undergraduate Scholarship of up to $12,000, renewable for up to five years, to support her pursuit of a bachelor’s degree! Each year, rootEd awards 30 of these scholarships, which are available exclusively to students in high schools that partner with rootEd. These scholarships are worth up to $60,000 per student and are designed to fill critical gaps in their financial aid packages. Next year’s application cycle will open in January, and we will share additional information in the new year.

Grandparents Day (10/21/22) will be this Friday. We will start receiving Grandparents at 2pm. Grandparents can check in at either end of the Elementary campus. Once checked in, grandparents may go to their grandchild’s classroom where they will be served ice cream and cobbler courtesy of the staff and the PTO. When finished, grandchildren are welcome to take their grandparents out to recess. Grandparents may sign their grandchildren out provided they have cleared it with the parents beforehand. They can be signed out with the student’s homeroom teacher. We ask that all grandparents be gone no later than 3:15.
