The HS baseball game @ Cabool today has been cancelled due to field conditions.

The FCCLA/FBLA Banquet will be held tonight, May 1st, at 6:00 in the school cafeteria. All families of members are invited to attend.

The Bakersfield R-IV School District is excited to offer a Building Trades/Industrial Arts Program on campus. We are currently seeking applicants for this position. It is a full-time teaching position. Courses include Intro to Trades, Building Trades 2 & 3 (project-based), Intro to Industrial Maintenance, and Advanced Welding. The ideal candidate would be able to provide OSHA 10 or 30 certification and welding certification or another trade-based certification. The minimum qualifications to apply are 30 college hours with 2,000 certifiable hours in a trade, or 6,000 certifiable hours in a trade to qualify for a Career-Temporary Authorization Certificate from the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. Candidates must be able to pass a background check and willing to become fully certified. Base pay for this 9 month position is $40,000. Health insurance is provided by the district and employees participate in the Missouri Teacher Retirement System. Bakersfield R-IV is an equal opportunity employer. Due to the storm that occurred in Springfield this week, the Dickerson Park Zoo is closed until further notice. Therefore, we have made other arrangements for the field trip this Friday, May 2nd. Students will attend a movie at the Glass Sword in West Plains on Friday morning, and we will treat them to pizza afterwards. Depending on the weather, we will either take them to the park for lunch, or if it is too rainy, we will return to school. Due to seating capacity, the theatre is only open to students and teachers. Mrs. Bean is working diligently to ensure that money intended for the original zoo trip is returned to parents as quickly as possible. We appreciate your understanding.

Testing begins next week!!! EOC Testing Schedule 4/29/25 Tuesday -Government and Algebra I 4/30/25 Wednesday- Biology 5/1/25 Thursday - English II GRADES 3-8 - MAP testing will begin 4/29/25 All testing will be completed by May 7th.

Friday, April 25th is the last day to turn in Summer School forms. If you do not have the form shown, please call the elementary office at 417-284-7333. We will be happy to register your child by phone.

We have been very busy in the FACs department the last couple of weeks. In Sewing, we have finished multiple projects. The Foods class completed their dinner parties. And finally, FCCLA hosted an egg hunt for the high school and middle school.

The tornado sirens were going off. THERE IS NO WARNING OR TORNADO. Everyone is fine and it was a test.

The track meet at Mountain View has been cancelled today due to water in their concession building, standing water and their jump pits and the shot and discus area are completely full of water.
