School Picture Retake Day will be Tuesday, October 6 after lunch to accommodate VoTech students. We will take: 📸Fall Yearbook Picture Retakes, 🎓Senior Composites (Tux/Drapes), and🎮Clubs. SENIORS: girls, be sure to bring a camisole or something that slips easily off the shoulders and boys, please bring a white t-shirt to wear!

I am thrilled to announce this year marks the 100th anniversary of Agricultural Education courses at Bakersfield High School. To commemorate our history and traditions, each month of this school year we will highlight a component of our agricultural department and our FFA chapter. This months spotlight will be Supervised Agricultural Experience Projects. Stay tuned for a special link in the coming days where our hardworking students will share their SAE's with you.

9th: National Convention Registration Opens
10th: FFA Dues are due. $20
10th: FFA Meeting and Ice Cream Social after school - 5:30 PM
15th: Area Leadership Conference for AG SCI 1 and Officers -OD required- During the school day.
15th: FFA Concession Stand during the Volleyball Game. Workers arrive at 4:30 please.
16th: Bull Blast set up for Officers after school at Gainesville Saddle Club Arena
17th: National Teach Ag Day
18th: 6th Annual Ozark County FFA Bull Blast at GSCA. 7:00 PM
22nd: FFA Fundraiser Ends

Bring your money to Mrs. Scott or to the HS office! Hurry...they won't last long! Class of 2026, your yearbooks can be picked up in the HS office.

The Bakersfield Elementary School requests your help in the Buckets for Benefits Laundry Soap Fundraiser. This fundraiser provides the elementary school with the financial resources to support our extracurricular activities, such as our annual Christmas movie and pizza, Reading and Math incentives, Benchmark and AR Reward Parties, to name a few. Our goal is for each student to sell at least one item. Everyone who sells at least one item will receive a special treat.

Our coaches and AD are monitoring the heat for outdoor athletics. We will be monitoring the weather and taking appropriate precautions for recess and all outdoor activities. Please feel free to send a water bottle with your child to help them stay hydrated. This week, we will be offering water on all afternoon bus routes. Stay cool and safe!
Due to scheduling conflicts, the Title I/Grandparents night previously set on September 17, has been rescheduled for September 22nd from 5:30p.m. to 7p.m.

26-27 Bus route changes summarized here!!!
Due to state budget cuts and increased fuel costs, one bus route has been absorbed. No route will be longer than 1 hour!!!
For impacted stop times, drivers will be calling parents between now and Monday with updated pickup and drop off times. Below is a SUMMARY of the changes (for space limitations, every road and stop is not listed)
John Turner--no changes
David Williams route---very few changes, but will add pickups for all students on 160. This route will be ran by David Clarkson until David is back from sick leave.
Mr. Johnson (K/KK, MM, 101) is now combined with parts of Mr. Grigg's route. Mr. Johnson and Mr. Grigg will alternate driving this route. It will begin at Glenwood school, back through West Plains, down KK, MM, 160 to 101 to school.
Kelly Crabtree and Jason Marsh's routes have significant changes.
Kelly's route is absorbing the 142 portion of Mr. Grigg's route (for our K-8 high school students) beginning at Moody Church of Christ, back to school, through Bakersfield down CR 585 off 101 South , state line (as needed), back to school.
Jason's route is absorbing CR 584 to EE, to Udall, up V to CR 544 thru to 540, back to V and south to school.

Community Outreach information!
Immunizations must be up to date by Tuesday Aug. 25 when school starts. The Ozark County Health Department will be having a clinic tomorrow, August 20th, for students who have not gotten the required immunizations. Please call and make an appointment at 417-679-3334.
The Howell County Health Department will be having a clinic on Friday, August 21 from 8-11 and 1-4. Appointments can be made by calling 417-256-7078.
Students will not be allowed to start school or participate in any sports practices or other extra curriculum activities until these immunizations are up to date.
Signed exemptions are considered up to date.

Here are a few photos to highlight some of our FFA members from the summer. Our members have been working diligently on their Supervised Agricultural Experience Projects. Our chapter officers also attended area training, a local workshop to plan for our 100th year of Ag Education at Bakersfield, and enjoyed a retreat at Silver Dollar City before heading out to look for local businesses willing to partner with us in advertising for the 6th Annual Ozark County FFA Bull Blast.
