Text: The American Vision

Required Supplies: Large three ring binder

Class Participation: Participation in class discussions is vital to student learning. Participation points can be earned for debates, questions, and working well within a group.

Homework: Homework will be assigned as needed. Homework assignments will be posted on the board along with the due date. Work should be handed in on the due date. Late work will have points deducted.

Attendance: It is important for the learning process that students are in the classroom every day. However, students who are sick will have one day for each day missed to make up work. It is an honor and privilege for Bakersfield students to attend school sponsored events. Students missing school for such an event will be allowed to make up any work or points assigned. I realize that some school sponsored events are packed full of activities and learning so students may take the work with them or complete the work after returning to school. The policy will be the same as if they were sick.

Test/Quizzes: Students will always have advance notice on tests. Quizzes may be random or take home assignments. Tests and quizzes can be multiple choice, matching, essay, fill in the blank, true/false, or a project.

Extra Credit: Extra credit will be at the discretion of the teacher.

An EOC or End of Course exam will be given in the spring semester. Part of the exam will be multiple choice which will be a regular test grade.
